About Us

The East Preston Day Care and Family Resource Centre is a non-profit organization that has been in the community of East Preston for over 40 years. Our main goal is to nurture and support families in our region, surrounding communities and beyond. We have a supportive, family feeling — in fact, many children who attend our day care eventually go through our youth program (one is even back working at the day care while she is advancing towards her diploma in early childhood education!).

Open to everyone and anyone, we’re proud of East Preston and our surrounding communities. Even more importantly, we’re proud of our children, youth, and families, and their accomplishments during their years with us.

Meet Kayvont

Kayvont’s journey with us began before he was even born, as his mother took pre-natal classes at the Family Resource Centre. Once he was born, he grew up with us at the East Preston Day Care. Kayvont is now in the Youth Program at the Family Resource Centre, and is giving back to his community by working at the Day Care. Not only are we extremely proud of Kayvont and his accomplishments, but we feel he truly embodies the community spirit that East Preston Day Care and Family Resource Centres instills in our children and families.

Donations

Operating as non-profts, both the East Preston Day Care Centre and Family Resource Centre accept, and are extremely grateful for, donations. Charitable tax receipts are issued for all monetary donations. We can accept e-transfers or cheques (either mailed or in-person).

We also accept non-perishable food items, toiletries and hygiene products, and gently used clothing and children’s items/toys. Any items that are not immediately needed at either centre are placed in a donation box that is available for the community to access.

“History Tree” Fundraiser

The East Preston Day Care Centre has painted a tree in the front entrance of the Centre. This “History Tree” represents our growth and development since 1974. We are giving the community, staff (past and present) and those that have a connection with our Centre an invitation and opportunity to be represented on our tree. When you purchase a leaf for the cost of $25.00, your name or your child’s name will be engraved and the year you enrolled at the Centre. A $20.00 tax receipt will be given for each leaf purchased. With 50 years of service it shouldn’t take long to fill our “History Tree” with leaves.
